Performance Coaching for Mountain Bikers

For the first 4 years, The Strength Factory was called the “MTB Strength Factory” and our sole focus was improving the performance of mountain bikers across the UK.  Whilst we now deal with people from a wide range of action sports, mountain biking is still at the heart of what we do at The Strength Factory.

Whether you are a professional athlete, taking on World Cups, or an amateur racing in your age group, we have a performance package to suit your needs and budget.  We can offer you distance coaching and programming, or face to face sessions, testing and consultations from our facility in Bristol.

At The Strength Factory we work with a number of the UK’s top racers, including Charlie Hatton, Mike Jones, Vero Sandler, Chris Hutchens, Sam Flockhart and Jay Williamson.  If you train with The Strength Factory, you will be in safe hands, working towards your racing goals.

Strength and Conditioning

We can offer you or your team a wide range of strength and conditioning services to improve your performance on the bike and to help create powerful and robust riders.  Working from a professional-standard gym in Bristol, we are able to take you through a comprehensive physical and performance assessment, before coaching you through your personalised programme.

As well as pro riders, we have limited space to coach every day riders and amateur racers from the Bristol area and beyond.  You will visit the gym once or twice per week and will work in small groups of like minded riders in a fun and friendly atmosphere.  You will get stronger, more mobile and fitter.  You will ride faster.

Distance Coaching and Programming

You don’t have to live in Bristol to take advantage of The Strength Factory’s expertise.  We can create a personalised training plan to prepare you for a big race, event or Alpine adventure, no matter where you live.  The Strength Factory has successfully coached riders for the Enduro World Series, Trans Provence, Trans Savoie, Megavalanche and many more.  Using an online app called, Training Peaks you will get a programme that fits in to your personal and work life, giving you the confidence that  you are making the most of your valuable time.

We can also offer a strength programming service where you visit the gym once every 4-8 weeks for an assessment and coaching before having a programme built for you.  This is an economical option for those of you who live a bit further away or who can’t get to the gym regularly.

Testing

At The Strength Factory we can offer you a range of testing services, from flexibility and strength to power profiling and FTP testing.  You do not have to be coached by us to use these services, and teams and individuals can book in for pre-season and in-season testing sessions.  We will provide a professional report with your results, giving you actionable information and advice based on your results and what your riding goals are.
